If you are seeking beauty and never before seen photos, then there is no better place than the surface of Mars. NASA has Just released over 2500 spectacular photos which were taken by HiRISE aboard NASA’s MRO Satellite (Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter). Unfortunately, Mars has earned a name as the red planet, but these latest photos have transformed the subtle difference of soils into amazing colours.
“NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter passes over the planet’s south polar region in this artist’s concept illustration. The obiter’s shallow radar experiment, one of six science instruments on board, is designed to probe the internal structure of Mars’ polar ice caps, as well as to gather information planet-wide about underground layers of ice, rock and, perhaps, liquid water that might be accessible from the surface. Phobos, one of Mars’ two moons, appears in the upper left corner of the illustration.” Source Credit: Space.com
Over the past 10 years HiRISE has taken and sent back some amazing photos of Mars which will also be used for future space explorations. Most of the photos are very detailed because scientists at NASA can scale down an area to just a few feet. (Including European Schiaparelli Mars lander, which crash landed on Oct. 19, 2016)
We have selected the top 10 out of 2540 photos that were just released, and hope you enjoy them as much as we did. Please feel free to leave a comment on our Facebook Page.
