Krakatoa Volcano Indonesia

There are over 160 people dead after a tsunami hit the coast area of Sunda Strait which is between the islands of Java and Sumatra, saturday night!

There has not been any earthquakes reported by The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency. So a possible undersea landslide or a relatively rare submarine volcanic eruption may have been the likely cause of this tsunami. (Accordıng to Country’s officials)

Below is a short video that was recorded at the moment the waves start coming in, and you can clearly see the panic it causes.

The Sunda Strait (Indonesian: Selat Sunda) separates both ıslands Jave and Sumatra and lays 100 km from Indonesian capital, Jakarta.

Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, a spokesman said: “At this moment there are thousands of homes that are either destroyed or heavily damaged after the tsunami hit the coast.” And added that thousands of locals were forced to evacuate to higher grounds.

The death toll is expected to rise sharply after a detailed rescue research begins.
