It’s Official: Star Trek 4 Is Cancelled

Bad news for Star Trek lovers as giant movie maker Paramount cancels Star Trek 4 due to Deadline date.

The franchise movie that started in 2009 and directed by J.J. Abrams and which still has not been titled, would have been directed by SJ Clarkson if the Hollywood movie went ahead.

Both actors Karl Urban and John Cho stated many times that they were looking forward to be in the latest film.

Mrs Clarkson who has signed up to direct The Game of Thrones ‘Prequel Series’ could have made history being the first female director to direct Star Trek.

According to a report which was published on TrekMovie.com wrote:

“Clarkson was recruited by HBO for GOT after she recently became available. Earlier this year, Clarkson was the first female director to be tapped to direct a Star Trek movie when she was hired to helm the fourth feature in the current series. That project has since been shelved.”

Although, the deadline is being used as an excuse, the real reason is once again money. The film titled Star Trek Beyond which was released back in 2016 only made $335,802,233 and the company’s budget was said to be $195,000,000. However, according to an inside source Paramount was actually in the pit this time.

The project started to get delayed when Paramount tried to lower both Chris Pine and Chris Hemsworth salaries, resulting with all parties walking away from the table.  Pine who said he wanted the negotiations to continue and whom was supported by ex-former star William Shatner could not change Paramount final decision.

I have to say that I am quite disappointed and on behalf of all Star Trek fans I hope that Pine returns one last time to charm us all as Captain Jim Kirk.
